Job
Description
The OMG Advertising Department has an opening for
a Local Multi-Media Advertising Salesperson. This
individual sells AD spots for online advertising
to retail/service advertisers in a specific geographic
territory.
We are looking for highly
motivated outside salesperson. The Multi-Media
salesperson is expected to make 15 face-to-face cold
calls each day, prepare 8 Action Plans (1-2 page sales
proposals) each month and sign at least 4 new business
contracts a month.
The Multi-Media salesperson
will take over an existing territory of roughly 20-25
regular advertisers and is expected to grow that to the
industry average of 42-45 monthly customers in their
first four-to-six months on the job.
This individual will
acquire an excellent understanding of their customers'
businesses using a proscribed probing matrix and
regularly provide high-level strategic marketing
solutions that will help the advertisers grow their
businesses.
While our salespeople
have a high degree of freedom as far as their daily
activities, there is also a high level of accountability
for results (measured by growth in revenue and number of
advertisers). Our staff is equipped with excellent
resources like laptops, Blackberries, and state-of
the-industry marketing research. Earnings are a
combination of high commissions plus bonus.
Because we are a
dynamic, multi-platform media company, ours is a
fast-paced environment. Our salespeople are able to sell
more than 40 online AD spots, many of which have daily
deadlines.

Essential
Functions:

Make a minimum of 15
face-to-face new business "touches" a day.

Prepare 8 Action plan
proposals per month.

Sign at least 4 new
contracts per month.

Use a probing matrix to understand
the customer/prospect's needs and business objectives.

Quickly become familiar with our
online products and how to most effectively use them.

Provide superior advertising
recommendations and innovative marketing solutions that
will help grow the advertisers' businesses.

Achieve or exceed monthly sales
goal.

Demonstrate a high degree of
self-management and organization.

Provide superior customer service
and be proactive in addressing customer needs and
concerns.

Work closely with other team
members (Designers, Ad Production, Sales Coordinators)
to ensure a successful outcome.
